What the beta stores

When you grant location permission and enable exploration, Small World records location samples, timestamps, explored areas, distance estimates, and places or notes you choose to save. The beta stores this information locally on your device.

Background location

Background exploration is optional and requires Apple’s location permission. You can pause exploration in the app or change permission at any time in iOS Settings. iOS may display its own location-use indicators.

No Small World account or cloud sync yet

The current beta does not require a Small World account and does not upload your exploration history to a Linfinite server. The export feature creates a file only when you deliberately choose to export and share it.

Platform services

The beta is distributed through Apple TestFlight and was compiled using Expo Application Services. Apple, Expo, and your device may process app, crash, diagnostic, or distribution data under their own terms. Map content is provided by Apple Maps.

Retention and deletion

Your locally stored beta data remains on the device until you remove it through available app controls, delete the app, or erase the device data. TestFlight or platform diagnostic records may follow the provider’s retention practices.
